Mission statement
FABCOS promotes the development of black business by striving for the advancement of its members to help them secure economic Empowerment, self-reliance, and respect.
Through active participation in formal business and governmental initiatives, FABCOS campaigns for the continual improvement of South Africa’s socio-economic climate for the benefit of its members. As a means of developing its members to their full potential FABCOS remains committed to the pursuit of entrepreneurial development and training, education, transfer of skills and sound administration.
Objectives
The objectives for which NTASA is established are to:
- Advance the ideals of economic Empowerment for its members.
- Work towards the liberation of the economy from its historical constraints in particular the liquor laws of the RSA.
- Improve the standards of business practices by rendering facilities, services and infrastructure to members and member provinces.
- Establish regional offices, if required, according to provincial boundaries where there is a need, and to make these available to members.
- Facilitate training and development programmes for members and member provinces.
- Provide all members with membership cards or certificates.
- Encourage business ventures that create opportunities for and economically empower members.
- Create discussion forums with other business organisations on subjects of mutual concern.
- Represent the interests of the Association nationally and internationally, and to serve as a reference body to anyone wishing to communicate with members or member associations.
- Promote, draft, or assist in promoting or drafting any bill, or ordinance calculated to further the objects of SATA or its members for presentation to Parliament or to any other Legislative Authority, and to assist in procuring the enactment, promulgation and enforcement of relevant legislation, either individually or in conjunction with other National Business Chambers.
- Make representations to local, Regional and Central Government on business and consumer issues, in consultation with and on behalf of its members.
