FABCOS INVESTMENT HOLDINGS LIMITED [FABVEST]

Background

Since it’s founding in 1988, FABCOS went through several phases initially relying mainly on donor funding and support from international aid organizations. As time passed, it became clear that this dependence on grants and sponsorships would not assist in leading to the sustainable delivery of the organization's mission.
In the early 1990's FABCOS started participating directly in the SA economy through taking shareholding stakes in corporate sector entities on behalf of the policy wing, and its members. The investments were done through the investment arm, FABVEST that fell under the organization's dedicated trust, FABCOS Trust. These included equity stakes in MTN [M-Cell], Tsogo Sun, Premier Foods and Coin Security, amongst others. This has assisted the organization to generate a capital base that is sufficient to carry FABCOS annual operational expenses.
FABVEST Investments are expected to produce Income, Growth and Safety.
