Structure of AFASA and FABCOS’ Farms
In each province the African Farmers Association of South Africa is managed by a Provincial Sector Committee elected by FABCOS members. Each committee is lead by a Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary. The committee reports to the Provincial Executive Committee and the National AFASA Committee.
Over and above farms owned by members, FABCOS also directly owns farms as an organization. In addition to animal husbandry, these farms produce cash crops such as Beans, Lucerne, Sweet Potato, Onion, Garlic, etc. The farms are also used to practically train members of FABCOS who aspire to own land and become farmers.
