FOOD PROCESSING
1. Achaar Factory
The FABCOS Achaar factory is located on the Mango Farm in Makhado, Limpopo Province. The mango trees are well developed and by 2010 the factory will have a constant supply of mango from the farm and other farms in the vicinity.
2. Pack Houses
Pack houses exist in Makhado (Limpopo) and Msinga (Kwazulu Natal). Fruits and vegetables produced from the communities are properly cleaned, packed and transported to external markets profitably.
3. Food Processing Plant
FABCOS has also acquired a significant equity stake in GIBSON foods in Tarlton where vegetables and fruits are canned for supply to major retail chains such as Spar, Pick and Pay, etc.
4. Meat Factory
The livestock farms in the various provinces supply the meat processing plants. Currently, an agreement has been concluded with meat factory in Cape Town and another in Kya Sands. FABCOS is also in the process of building its own factory at the FABCOS Kaalfontein Farm. The advantage of locating the meat at the Kaalfontein farm is the accessibility of the factory to the under-utilized abattoirs and markets in this agricultural hub as proclaimed by the Department of Agriculture.
5. Milk Processing Factories
Currently three [3] farms that produce milk have processing plants. These are the Cattle milk farm in Ventersdorp, the Kroonstad farm and the Cradle cheese farm in Krugersdorp.
