FABCOS (the Foundation for African Business and Consumer Services) is a
membership-based organization promoting the development of Black
business in South Africa. By striving for their advancement through a
multi-disciplinary approach, FABCOS helps its members secure economic
Empowerment, self-reliance and self-respect. ..
With established offices in all nine provinces and active
participation in formal business and governmental initiatives,
FABCOS campaigns for the continual improvement of South Africa’s
socio-economic climate for the benefit of its members.
As one of only four national business chambers, FABCOS actively
lobbies and creates new growth opportunities for its members and
businesses through their participation in the national associations it
has established in nine business sectors.
Each FABCOS association leverages its collective bargaining power on
behalf of its members to drive SMME (Small, Medium and Micro-Enterprise)
development, particularly in Black townships and rural areas. Through
training, mentoring and active participation, the associations promote
professional business practices amongst their members and compliance
with various statutory bodies.

Beyond Empowerment... SIYAZENZELA
(we do it ourselves)

Using the enterprises it has established to work with five of the sector
associations, FABCOS facilitates wealth creation for its members. Each
sector business uses individual FABCOS members and their companies as
suppliers, contractors and customers in an innovative supply chain
synergy to generate new wealth and to transform regional economies
throughout the country.
FABCOS prides itself on being one of the few South African
organizations to have achieved real Empowerment for its members. As a
pioneer of post-BEE economic independence, FABCOS offers Black traders
and professionals a diversity of scope for financial growth. FABCOS' business and investment vehicles ensure the organization's
commercial sustainability, enhance its monetary value to shareholders
and create additional revenue streams, thereby establishing FABCOS as
the leading broad-based Black-owned business in South Africa.
